And Another One

I promised you more content. So let it be written, so let it be done. And look, I have provided. Am I not merciful? Actually seeing as I have no followers I have come to realize that If I was walking down the street and saying these posts aloud instead of on the web, I would probably be locked up for my own safety.

So here you go me, enjoy. Bahahaha.

Remembering The Good Ol' Days

The other day I was wasting away on Reddit, when suddenly I see a post about the Alkaline Trio, which instantly brought be back to senior year of High School in the long long ago of 2003-2004.

I was never really too into them, but they had a few songs I liked, and a couple of my D&D friends (what I am a nerd...deal with it) liked them a ton (I am talking to you Kyle), and the memories of all the awesome times we had came flooding back. Fun fact: my wife, an extremely hot soccer chick at the time played D&D with us nerdy, music and video game loving, Punk Rock aspiring Theatre kids (I told you I am nerdy, although I haven't done acting in years...probably not since film school).

Oh right, back to the topic at hand. What is one album/song that will immediately transport you back to a different time in your past?

I will go first. Even though I started this post talking about the Alkaline Trio, it is actually AFI's albums "Sing the Sorrow and "Black Sails in the Sunset" that transport me the most. Why? Because, they are the first albums I showed my girlfriend (now wife) that she loved and still listens to.

I am providing both via Spotify below.

Anybody Else Want A Mod Enabled Console?

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. The current consoles have lost sight of what is to be a gamer. Take Sony for example, they advertised the PS3 with the capability of being a dedicated Linux box, then came out with a patch disabling this aspect, and punished individuals for hacking their own console to do what they had bought it for. Shame on you Sony. Don't even get me started on Microsoft.

I present to you the OUYA It cold possibly be the next great thing for those of us who own/owned a modded system of any kind.

On a side note, any one else remember when Nintendo forced you to add a hardware mod to your system? I needed it just to run Majora's Mask. What has happened to the systems of my youth?

Its All Good

I hope everyone had an amazing 4th, I know I did. Nothing beats having a few cold ones, while celebrating your nation's freedom. But, I have a question I would like to pose to everyone (no relation to 4th of July). What do you like most about music?

I know this is a standard question from most, if not all musicians. For me though, there is no one answer.

I love how something as simple as three chords can incite a riot (any punk song)

I love how I can walk along and see the world around me sync with the beat pouring out of my headphones

I love the way that no single genre can define an individual's personal taste. For instance, go on Facebook and you will see that every single friend has more than one genre. I mean even my sisters, who are Texas country music loving girls, also like Thursday, The Mars Volta, Massive Attack and many others.

But most of all, I love the ambiguity of music. The melding of genres and sub-genres with little, or no similarities to me is one of the most amazing things, and in my humble opinion one of the few true melting pots of the people.

I will come down off my soapbox now, and apologize for any pretension/douchebaggery on my part with this post. I really do want to know your thoughts, even if it isn't about music. I want to hear what makes you say "yeah, its all good."

Cheers
